Last year I invested some hard earned money in three Raspberry Pi4s with 8Gb of RAM each. After testing the setup I also invested in three small 480GB SSDs. The cluster runs over Wifi, not ideal but there are too many cables already. The machines run Ubuntu to make use of the 64-bit processor. One if its uses is the processing of weather data.
